Brag: Ruger finished his Senior Hunter title at the Western New York Retriever Club Hunt Test on July 24, 2010 and also earned a 5th ribbon just for fun the following day. Ruger came into my life in June 2003 at 18 months of age, having already earned his CD and JH. My dog training skills had been dormant for almost 20 years, but with Ruger’s willing attitude nudging me along, I slowly but surely re-discovered both obedience and field work, and I haven’t looked back since. Ruger was my first CDX (obedience), now my first Senior Hunter. He is my teacher and one of the sweetest boy dogs I have ever known. He will be 9 years old this November, so his future field life will be that of a fine test dog.

Brag: "Wizbang " finished his Senior Hunter title at the Fox Valley Retriever Club's test on May 15th. This versatile dog had just finished his Utility Dog title in obedience 3 weeks before the hunt test which gave him the requirements for the Versatile Companion Dog 3, where a dog has to have certain titles in Agility, Tracking, and Obedience. (the title goes from 1-5). He's such a fun dog to train, and since he loves the field work so much, he's telling me he wants to keep on going. Barb Mattheis

Brag: Michigan flyway Hunt Test at Omega Farms, Williamston, Mi, Sept 19-20 "Beats " got back to back passes to earn her Senior Hunter title. This was a special thrill for me because it is my first Senior title on a dog! Both sets of judges had nice compliments for Beats. Omega Farms was an awesome site, offering 600 acres for Hunt Test Clubs to use, plus cooking up a Sat nite meal of smoked home-grown Angus beef for all participants! "Wizbang " got his 3rd pass on Sat with a real thrill for me by lining the water blind. He came close to finishing his title on Sun, but again, a very narrow channel blind with tall grasses on all shores was his demise. More work needed on that!!
